the following LEGAL NOTICE appeared in the SOUTH JERSEY TIMES on April 28th and 29th 2023:

"PUBLIC NOTICE

Per the requirements of the New Jersey Cemetery Law, the trustees of the Green Cemetery will hold the annual meeting on Saturday 20 May 2023 at 10 AM (rain date 5/27) in the facility at 500 Tanyard Road Deptford, NJ."

Summery Report of the meeting, which began at 10:30 hrs (rain delay)

1)     The Surrogate Court appointment of Trustees was evidenced

 

2)     The publication tear sheet and affidavit from the South Jersey Times which indicates that this meeting as appropriately advertised (in the newspaper) as requirement by law; on their website, posted on the bulletin board, and sent email notices to interested persons.


3)  only 1 neighbor attended


A  brief history of the facility was read; and then proceeded to list the accomplishments for 2022 as follows:

 

a.     The current grass cutting schedule has been posted on the bulletin board, however due the funding limitations, we can only buy 10 cuts (which is usually before the major holidays).

b.     Posted new rules and price List as of 1/June/2022

c.      Tanyard Road Fencing:

                                                              i.      The main sections were completed during the summer

                                                            ii.      A blacksmith was hired to repair 16 ft hole in the fence

                                                         iii.      The South Gate Fence area remained incomplete (see 2023 update)

d.     more abandoned family plots were identified and authorized for resale

e.     PVC posts were installed marking location of the “famous graves” (see Bboard & website)

f.       the Tankard sidewalk was repaired

g.     Section “K” (A Potter’s Field behind the Copperfield drainage basin)

                                                              i.      Title to the previous easement was acquired

                                                            ii.      Rutgers Univ opened a historical investigation into the stones

h.     With the aid of our tri-pod and 3-ton hoist; several damaged stones and monuments were reset

i.        Some landscaping clean-up was completed

j.        2 more lawn mowers were donated

k.      We applied for and received Service Trademark for the “Historic Green Cemetery” (see main gate)

l.        We began discussions with the South Jersey Art Alliance in order to stage an Art Expo at the facility

m.  We registered with the NJ Film Council as a potential Film Location

 

The trustee’s objectives for 2023 were as follows:

a.     As of this meeting, the blacksmith installed the replacement sections of the fence and the final 170 feet Tanyard Road Fence adjoining the South Gate has now been restored

b.     fully open the Livermore Pathway in D-Section (top of ridge)

c.      implementation of a marketing program:

                                                                          i.      install permanent signage

                                                                        ii.      install permanent street, section, and path signage

                                                                     iii.      plan a “Grand Reopening” event

d.     continue to develop group of potential Trustees / advisors

e.     work with CF HOA to level out K-Section easement access pathway

f.       reset more stones and monuments

g.     continue general clean-up activities

 

The formal presentation having been completed – and the rain resuming as to inhibit a tour; the meeting concluded at 10:41 hrs.
